Loose ends

First, rabble's relaunch is less than a month away. More info @ rabble.ca/relaunch.

And, since this post is already pretty self indulgent, I also have a review of the Eadweard Muybridge exhibit at the AGH in the latest H Mag. Pick it up in Hamilton.

I love the Fall. September is really the perfect time of year, partly because I still have that feeling of new beginnings. Even though it’s been 3 years since I last stocked up on school supplies and made the drive to Ottawa to start a new year of school, I still get that rush of adrenaline and that clean-slate feeling that tells me I can start fresh and focus on things that I’ve neglected while sipping Caesars and taking road trips over the summer.

Unfortunately, September comes with an ominous feeling, knowing that winter is just around the corner, and the days are getting shorter and shorter. Luckily, that ominous isn’t quite so overwhelming this year with my trip out East only a few weeks away. I’m reading Margaret Webb’s Apples and Oysters right now, which has me drooling over East-coast seafood.

One last thing, as my lunch at work draws to a close — I was two rows back from Christopher Plummer last week. Yes, Mr. Von Trapp himself starred as Caesar at the Stratford Festival, and I was in awe for the entire two hours. I only reserve the word dapper for a few very special gentlemen (ahem — Peter Mansbridge), but holy smokes, Christopher Plummer is perfectly suited for the word.
