"The Rest was becoming a buzz band long before they released their debut full length last year. Perhaps labels and some more fickle fans were sensing a connection to bands like The Arcade Fire and found interest in The Rest. Sure, the seven–piece outfit offered something unusual to local stages and with an inventive melodies and an imaginative presentation.

Working on the new album with Dan Achen at Catherine North — The Rest will further use the studio to offer a special performance, a taste of things to come and a special show that focuses on what’s most important to the band, the music. “We want people to see the growth in the band — at the same time we kept the momentum going,” offers Bentley. “I truly believe that this is pop music; something with hooks and melody, not at all in the popular sense because I’m not sure we’d know how to make a popular song, probably would sound terrible if we tried.
the rest performs this saturday, september 6th at catherine north (225 park n.). doors are at 8pm and $10 gets you in.
