I've developed a small crush on Al Gore tonight, after visiting one of my favourite places in Ottawa, the Bytowne Theatre, to see the documentary An Inconvenient Truth.It is heartbreaking to see what is truly at stake if politicians don't put aside their own economic investments and whole-heartedly dedicate their administrations to the changes that are neccessary to halt global warming. This film sheds light on the fork in the road that the world has encountered, and soon, if the wrong path is chosen, our generation and future generations will be faced with the harsh consequences of the destructive behaviors of the 20th and 21st centuries.
It makes you think of how different the world could be right now if Al Gore had won the 2000 election. Maybe his finances would go toward crucial enviromental reform, and not killing innocent people a world away.
