Along the canal, at the Highlander, wrapped in blankets when the air conditioning gets too cold, on the bus and especially sitting on the front lawn of Centre Block.
This year, while on my annual trip home to keep my family tradition alive of attending Hamilton's Festival of Friends (as I have every year of my life), it was Last Seen, one of the last printed works of Matt Cohen, which I read from cover to cover.
Rescued from a bargain bin around last year's holidays, Last Seen was an unexpected surprise.
Both beautiful and funny, Last Seen sheds light on the horribly sad relationship of two brothers, both before and after the youngest's death from lung cancer (the same malady that eventually led to Cohen's death.) While it was my first book of Cohen's many, I look forward to reading more of his work soon.
