I meant to post this yesterday BEFORE the Leonard Cohen concert. Whoops. I'll blog about the freaking phenomenal concert tomorrow (with pictures).
...
Pick up any one of my journals (or hell, even do a search on this blog) and you’ll notice that when I find myself in times of trouble I have a tendency to scrawl (or type) Leonard Cohen lyrics, in particularly those from “Hey, That’s No Way to Say Goodbye” or “I Tried to Leave You,” or any number of his perfectly poised anthems.
A few years back, I sat at the Mayfair (alone, since really, the best Mayfair experiences happen when you’re alone) and watched I’m Your Man, the film-tribute to Cohen. I was in absolute awe of his 20-foot image projected across the screen.
I’ve heard Hayden do “Famous Blue Raincoat” live. I’ve heard Jon Bon Jovi belt out “Hallelujah.” But tonight I will be twelve rows back from the legend himself. The reviews from other shows have been nothing less than glowing!
