It's that time of year again (which proved true in Ottawa this weekend). Here's a link to Shameless's take on street harassment. I mouthed off a group of guys (while on the phone to Jordan) outside a club on Elgin this weekend. Not smart, especially after I saw how that can turn out when my friends got jumped last Canada Day. But at the time, full of beer and attitude, I thought it was necessary.
Adventures In Street Harassment - Shameless Magazine - for girls who get it: "When I am the victim of street harassment late at night I certainly don’t have the same sort of response that I would in the daytime, when I feel more safe and secure. While in daylight I usually throw a disgusted look or a witty phrase, my response at night is generally this: ignore, do not engage, but do so politely enough as not to anger (a likely very drunk) harasser."
