It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

What a splendid weekend, full of holiday wonderfulness! (Oh, according to my spell-checker, “wonderfulness” is actually a word!)

Friday night was perfect. After a dinner at Whole Foods with Cynthia, Jordan and I went to a coffee shop and drank green tea. Then we went back to his place and … watched TV! It’s strange how you take something for granted like that. We’ve been almost “sneaking around” lately, as strange as it seems, so we haven’t quite broken through the threshold of spending time at each other’s places, since we’re both still (temporarily) at our parent’s houses until the New Year.

Saturday was full of Christmas-card writing, and envelope licking and a little bit of work here and there. Saturday night was induced by a few “heavy-handed” Caesars and a pub on Augusta. This left me a little groggy (and nauseous!) for my work holiday party on Sunday, but a few Tylenols did the trick.

Our staff party was at the Oakville Golf Club, which was beautifully decorated and even Santa dropped by for a visit. It was a far cry from the drunken Casino nights from my retail Christmas party past. The holidays seem to go by much faster, yet more relaxing, when you’re not sequestered in a big box store forty, fifty, or sixty hours a week over the holidays.

On a side note, I’m going to see It’s A Wonderful Life at the Bloor Cinema on Wednesday, which I swear, I’m already tearing up over. It’s one thing to see It’s A Wonderful Life, which is one of my favourites, but just to see a classic film on a big screen in general is going to be remarkable. Classic film has always been a hobby (if not an obsession) but I’ve never seen one on a 50-foot screen. Jimmy Stewart in all his brilliantness (brilliantness is a word too!?) stretched across a screen that size has me so excited!
