First, the picture above is the living room of our apartment all decked out for the holidays. I have a feeling the tree is going to stay up for the better part of January because it just makes everything so cozy, especially when our faux fireplace (while lovely to look at and hang stockings on!) is a mere decoration. The living room was perfect for multiple viewings of It's A Wonderful Life, hosting The Rest Christmas Party (despite a snowstorm), and celebrating my Dad's birthday. With the abundance of kitchenware I received for Christmas, I'm assuming people think I need to be entertaining more often! Luckily for me, Jordan is quite possibly the best host. Not only does he cook, but he has a knack for noticing when people's glasses are emptying. Usually after a glass or two of wine or a few Caesars I've completely forgotten that a host is expected to flip the record over and refill drinks. Ooops.
Our 2nd annual party devoted to the absurdity of Facebook, named CHIPS, was a success, drawing a guess of 75-plus people. Not bad for a party that requires at least a paragraph of explanation and dumbfounded looks on the faces of invitees. It resulted in a dance party, which I caught on camera, but despite my best efforts I can't seem to get it to upload correctly.
I'm not sure how I've gotten this far without mentioning Arlo, my family's puppy! I don't want to get snippy and say things like: "My puppy is cuter than your puppy!" because that's not nice, but seriously, look at this face:
Besides a minor shoe fetish and some accidents in the house, he's been a relatively good puppy! Libbie has her moments that border hatred, but overall, I think deep down she likes the little guy, she just won't admit it yet. They got along pretty well, sharing their bones on Christmas morning.
Overall, a wonderful December! I'd write more, but I have a few last presents to wrap before Jordan gets home from the bistro.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
