We never knew we could want more than that out of life

I still don’t have the Internet at home, hence the infrequent posts. Funny thing is that I don’t even miss it. Though it seems as though I’m starting my own podcast for the Rabble Podcast Network, so I’m going to need to sign up for the Internet soon enough so I can get cracking with that. I know what you’re all thinking: Quiet, soft-spoken Jes and a podcast? I know, I’m thinking the exact same thing. I think I’ll be sticking behind the scenes on this one as a producer, because in the words of my beloved Jeff Tweedy: “I shake like a toothache when I hear myself sing,” or in my case, hear myself speak on the Internet for droves of people to hear. I’ve even been talking to the folks at Shameless and they’re interested in helping me out.

Ahh it’s a Friday, before a long weekend. My favourite kind of weekend. And for the first time in years, I have no elaborate cottage or camping plans. Rather, I’m going to stick around town, beautify my apartment, and catch up on some well-deserved sleep.

Jordan is playing a show at the elmo cambo tonight and then tomorrow we’re heading to the reuse centre, mostly because I’m on a quest for vintage keys (both typewriter keys and door keys). It’s a strange quest, but I envision them looking unique in my apartment in some sort of arrangement. I’m also Toronto-bound on Sunday to go to a comic book store. Don’t worry, my geekdom hasn’t expanded to comic books, rather I’m looking for this vintage magazine from 1941. I have the perfect spot above my bookshelves to frame some old magazines and movie posters that I have kicking around, but sadly this one is missing from my collection. Wish me luck!

My birthday is coming up and I’m turning 25. Expect a long, reminiscent post very soon. I’m also feeling quite reminiscent because it’s been two whole years since I graduated. Seriously, how did that happen?

And last but not least, I’m in love with this song, to the point I listen to it ten times at work every day. Sadly, the record store was sold out of the CD, otherwise I’d be listening to it ten more times every night when I get home.
