Knit-Wit

I’m terrified of knitting.

Well, maybe not of the art itself, but I’m terrified of learning. My mom called my bluff after half a dozen times of thinking aloud: “I want to learn to knit!”

Leave it to Mom. She headed over to Spun Fibre Arts in Burlington and let someone help her pick out some wool, needles and a book to aid me in my quest. Perfect! I was more than happy with this gift on Christmas morning — until I opened up an envelope with a lovely certificate inside. A Gift Certificate! For lessons.

They’re just an hour, on Tuesday nights, and I can go to any six over the course of the next year. But I haven’t gone yet and I have no idea why the thought of knitting with a few strangers terrifies me so much! I might be awkwardly quiet at times, but I usually do alright keeping up a conversation with people I don’t know. And I’m usually a quick learner.

So, this is New Year’s Resolution #1. Get over my fear of knitting class, get off my ass, and GO!

You could also come visit me and I could give you a crash course... Y'know, a head start to make those classes looks easy! (They will be easy... And you will have fun. Don't worry!)

Oh that's exactly what I need! I wish I had a trip planned for sometime soon. I'll keep you posted on my adventures in knitting though! :)
