I realize I'm a little early to celebrate this overhyped holiday, however I've just finished listening to the CBC's podcast of Definitely Not the Opera, which looks in detail at the taboo topic of underwear.
It's quite a humourous look at the multi-billion dollar lingerie industry. As my fourth-year term paper for 20th Century Popular Culture I looked at how the lingerie industry had transformed from pre-WW1 corsets to a highly marketed, mass produced commodity by the end of the century.
Who knew such a practical part of life could fill so many books, and radio programs discussing its societal impact!
