I remember sitting at the Hey Lucy Cafe, on King St. in downtown Toronto just over five years ago, as part of a day of ditching high school classes to attend the Ontario Universities Fair at the Convention Centre. I wouldn't have known it then, but the next time I'd be sitting in the same narrow, dimly lit restaurant, eating shrimpy pasta would be five years, a university education and a 4.5 year long relationship later.
Seemingly a lifetime ago.
This time, instead of chatting about applying to university and upcoming changes that would change the course of our lives with high school friends, it was Jordan and I who stumbled upon this little Italian restaurant, whose interior has hardly changed. A nice rest after a day of walking: shopping downtown, and my first trip to the R.O.M.
I've spent a lot of time in Toronto since I moved from Ottawa, and though it isn't quite the city I love, like Ottawa is/was, it's somewhere I definitely hope my job search will lead me to.
